http://patrimoine.manche.frIn the middle Ages, Regneville was a major port of cabotage linking Gascony to the main ports of England. From 19th Century, the local limestone is extracted and either exported towards the north coast of Brittany or turned into quicklime in the kilns of Regneville. During this period, coal is imported from Wales to feed the kilns. The history of the port of Regneville is explained in the maritime museum, next to the unique site of disused lime kilns.
