The 2011 AQUARELL'EURE festival will take place in Gaillon (a small town located in the Haute Normandie between Paris and Rouen) from 28/05 to 05/06/2011.
Our objective as organisers and mine as the President of the organizing association is to promote watercolours to the general public, to give the opportunity to well known artists and not so well known watercolour artists to meet, to encourage contacts between artists and the public...and maybe to make the visitor want to devote themselves to this magical technique.
Here the guest of honour is watercolours.
Please find enclosed the Rules for the International Exhibition, an application form...we would be delighted to count you in. If your timetable will allow, you may also propose to run a course.
The first AQUARELL'EURE festival took place from 29/05 to 06/06/2010. It involved 20 French artists, 3 Belgians and 15 from Normandy. Everything was not perfect from the point of view of the organization and we have learnt from this first experience. Nevertheless, we recorded over 1,000 visitors, a good number of paintings sold and a fair turnover at the shop (books, DVDs, postcards...).
The public was able to appreciate the excellent standard of the exhibitions. The atmosphere of this festival was enjoyed unanimously by the artists who came, the people taking part in the courses and the visitors.
Our challenge for 2011 is to improve in the areas where it is required without damaging the atmosphere dear to us.
